Seeing the glee and excitement over what is essentially doxing was my final straw with that site.

I may go back just to give the folks who I really love the option to follow me on other platforms but for now? I’m so beyond disgusted with that place.

I put on my VPN and switched locations just to see and even though Twitter will flag if you are using a VPN, which is also pure shite, there’s no telling if the locations are legitimate.

What’s more is that the location sharing feature is not even accurate.

And a lot of it is coming from so called “community driven” leftists who are delighting in a public tarring and feathering of accounts they hate that happen to come from India and Nigeria.

The amount of casual xenophobia and racism I’ve seen since that went live is astounding.

Not only is it dangerous from a privacy standpoint but it’s also dangerous from a societal standpoint.

I’m sadly unsurprised at the lack of critical thought that is going on on that other hellsite as it relates to the dangers of the location sharing crap.

i was shocked they were able to get away with SEX CARDIGAN and all it SUGGESTED but also i love that they didn't shy away from showing that either. sex is a beautiful part of life and im happy they showed that was important for Elphaba to experience.

Today it’s location sharing against your will, next is requiring all users submit current pictures of themselves and then it’s a case of only some having access to certain features etc. it’s no longer worth it anymore. It makes me sick tbh. After I saw how readily it was accepted on there.

I shoulda stuck to my proverbial guns then and not relented. But I can’t in all good conscience stay on that site knowing that the first step is getting people comfortable with the idea of surveillance, especially when it’s rooted in xenophobia.

I have trans and nonbinary people in my life who I love and want to protect and I’m scared for them, obviously birthright citizenship is personal to me for many reason and seeing a rich white South African man do a double n*zi salute is never great to see.

It was the “male and female” proclamation, the promise to prevent birthright citizenship for future generations and the double n*zi salute that did it for me.

And since there’s a lot of plot, intrigue and world building in this book/series; the audiobook experience totally takes you on a journey. I’m happy I got all the books in this series on audible tbh.

Okay so while I’m reading Regarding The Duke on my kindle, I’m listening to Bridge Kingdom on Audible. And it’s amazing! The vocal performances are super engaging! I’m always on the edge of my seat when I’m listening.
