Its what most everyone is saying. I think having been her caregiver for many years. Its the taking a hands off approach which is driving me a little nuts. I always want to fix it and be there for everyone. So this is just so strange to me.

So tomorrow I move my grandmother into memory care. I keep telling myself that this is for her own safety and health. That her dementia has evolved beyond my skill as a caregiver. I still feel a little guilty about all this but ive accepted that I have reached my capacity.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if she poped over the Columbia and stayed some place in Vancouver.

There was a rumor she was at the Ritz-Carlton. But honestly I have seen no evidence of it.

Something Ive watched with the Timbers and Thorns this year. The Thorns with all their injuries sure as hell try and fight almost every match. The Timbers honestly just seem to go through the motions and dont seem to have a lot of fight in them or a ton of passion. #rctid #baonpdx

So we have a move in date for my grandmother to the care facility. My wife and I will use our savings to cover her initial stay until hopefully Oregon medicaid takes affect. Its taken me awhile to accept doing this but she needs a level of care I personally can no loner provide foe her.

Fully agree. Lots of parts of downtown should be car free. I was talking with some neighbors and we thing downtown St John's at least a portion should be car free. I dont think it would hurt business I think I would increase more opportunities for business.

So the drama of my grandmother's care has escalated. Im trying to get her care through the state of Oregon. But my family offered to take her in California and once she has residency they will apply for her to get care through California. I only have to pay my uncles $50,000.

$9250 A MONTH... That is the monthly cost for my grandmother at a care facility if the state refuses to help her. How the hell can my wife and I afford that. That is a lot more than what my wife and I bring home monthly.

I've gotten the impression maybe the current democratic incumbents dont want their positions in government anymore. The lack of urgency in their part make me feel we need to replace them.

I am proudly moving to some place on the DiscWorld. Might as well move to a world where crazy is just the norm.

Working on dinner and reading this recipe that called for 2 tablespoons of garlic and say out loud to myself. "Well how many cloves is that." My wife responds we only measure garlic in this house by what our heart desires.

I also want to let people who are being caregivers. Its okay to get help. After a point burnout will happen. I have some training to be a caregiver. My hope is once my grandmother is moved and I take some time off I will gladly help anyone with caring needs for older adults.

Yeah im hoping everything goes well. There are still some roadblocks we have to navigate but then I could still see her almost everyday.

We think we found a good memory care center for my grandma. We toured it and it is so far the only place that felt like a home. For those curious i have been caring my grandma for 5 years and I am reaching my limit for how much care I can safely give her. It is only 5 minutes away from my house too
