Imagine if it’s down to my likes on social media? Will they be appalled or in agreement? Or will it be so old fashioned they shrug it off, like: she was a person of her time. We can’t hold it against her. Hopefully they will be, at the very least, happy with my performance. given the times.

I comb through archival records for information about my ancestors and hope I find a goldmine like maybe a photograph much less any thing more exciting than their actual handwriting. Can you imagine my grandchildren seeing my internet history?

Congress is about to decide whether to stand up to Trump’s lawless power or hand him another blank check. And Trump and Senate Republicans are betting that Democrats will fold, just like they did in March. We can’t let that happen.

During these harder times, I turn to books and added the following to my Libby queue: 1. It Can’t Happen Here 2. Parable of the Talents 3. A People’s History of the US.

You know, light reads 😬 I have finished 1 and 2 and am currently on 3.

(2/2) What has changed is who that power is being exercised against. Instead of looking abroad, look to Indigenous peoples. We know the depths of what this government is capable of–and how to survive it.

(1/2) I keep seeing people look to Europe (Hungary, Russia, Nazi Germany) for examples of how to fight fascism, when authoritarianism has always been present in US democracy. Since its founding, our government has exercised power over the lands and lives of people who had no say.

It’s not just a document to submit. He was approved on a 5 yr green card. He had to apply (submit his I-751) for his 10 yr lawful permanent resident card aka green card. It’s expensive, requires documentation in support, along with biometrics (again) and possibly even another interview.

But Tribes aren’t DEI and Civil Rights are the law! Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Offices are being dismantled across the federal government. Using DEI as code to erode protections under the law is not okay!!

Civil rights offices too. ✌️Good luck, America.
