Realistically speaking, you can't not know what's going on with *that* kind of festivals, full of crypto-nazi bands, openly racist bands or right wing edgelords. If you don't know yourself, people and fans will send you messages, etc. So it's a conscious decision for bands, for whatever the reason.

5) As it's usual with everyone that starts to talk and be political in the scene, trolls and right wingers come at them with "you're a hypocrite because you also said or did this". You're not a hypocrite because you're made mistakes or used to be different, you're a hypocrite when you don't own up.

4) To break this silence, we need to open up a space where we're going to get criticized as well. Some bad choices in the past might be unearthed. We might have to admit we had bad takes on some stuff for long. When we truly care about community, we do this to get better collectively.

1) Ripped to Shreds cancelling a show with Master and calling them out because they played at Metal Threat is exactly the thing that's almost never done in the metal scene and makes a HUGE difference when it happens. It's a conversation starter about complicity in metal and most plp don't want it.

Same. Dead Congregation have toured with Destroyer 666 in the past so it's not *that* much of a surprise, but people in the local scene here in Greece have been vouching for their antifascist credentials as well

If you're a fan of any of the non-nazi bands participating in this, it's good to let them know you don't put up with this shit, just an idea

All that needs to be said about "Metal Threat festival". Your old regular nazi metal bands like Arghoslent, Grand Belial's Key and Graveland being brought in and playing together with well known "apolitical" metal bands. Fuck this shit, fuck complicity with nazism in the metal scene.

I'd say every genre of art is stupid at some things and great at others. Plp who think that their preferred genre is so important that they don't want to allow anyone to poke fun at it are treating it with religious-like devotion, like it's faultless or sacred, even if they might not admit it.

Thank you that's nice to hear! I'm still doing music/working on IV but unfortunately I have now 1/3 of the time I used to have, so its much harder to get stuff done. I mostly want to start again talking about and promoting underground artists in this site

Getting back to this site after some time, things have been a little rough; I've been feeling alienated from social media and scenes lately, yet I want to push through. Caring about underground music seems increasingly meaningless during these times, yet it's one of the few things that still matter.
