Judge again blocks DHS policy on lawmaker detention center visits
A federal judge more permanently stopped a policy Monday that would delay lawmaker visits to immigration detention centers.
“A federal judge Monday [in Neguse et al v. ICE et. al] more permanently stopped a DHS policy that would require a 7-day notice for members of Congress to visit immigration detention centers.”
Our work continues. Onwards!

Despite the Trump administration’s unlawful attempts to block Members of Congress from conducting oversight, a federal court just affirmed in Neguse et al. v. ICE et al. — ONCE AGAIN — our clear right to conduct unannounced oversight visits.
We will keep fighting to ensure the rule of law prevails.

Our constitution is clear: the decision to take our nation to war rests with Congress. Trump’s reckless & dangerous decision to initiate military action without congressional authorization is clearly unconstitutional.
Congress must reconvene —immediately — for a vote on the War Powers Resolution.

For years, I’ve led the charge to end for-profit, detention centers. Yesterday’s court ruling is a critical step forward in our fight to hold the “detention industrial complex” accountable!

President Trump’s speech last night was disgraceful — and a reminder that he’s not working to make life better for the American people.

Today, House Republicans are pushing legislation to repeal renewable energy subsidies.
Of course, these are the same programs that some of them touted a mere few years ago!

House Republicans are considering legislation on showerheads and dishwashers.

Colorado is sending more athletes to the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics than any other state
The skiingest state in the U.S. is sending 29 skiers and snowboarders, two figure skaters and a bobsledder to the 25th Winter Olympics
From Eagle-Vail to Wolcott, and Steamboat to Fort Collins, the 2nd District sent more athletes to the Winter Olympics than any other in the country!
Deeply proud of the Coloradans who participated and inspired by their tenacity & determination.

The Litigation Task Force — which I’m proud to lead with @raskin.house.gov & @robertgarcia.house.gov — fought against Trump’s unlawful and reckless tariffs every step of the way.
Today’s Supreme Court ruling striking down Trump’s tariff authority is a victory for the American people!

Jesse Jackson was an icon and giant of the civil rights movement — a trailblazer who inspired millions and was a consistent voice for the voiceless.
Andrea and I are praying for my friend Rep. Jonathan Jackson and the entire Jackson family.
May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace to Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights icon. His memory will inspire generations to come.

As Americans struggle economically across the country, House Republicans spent most of last week pushing tax breaks on tasers & cutting permit fees to build undersea fiber optic cables.
Theatre of the absurd.
