at its worst, it's a 4/10. it has moments of 9/10 greatness (the flashbacks with eva), but overall it's a mediocre 6/10 product.

it's not that the core themes are off the mark. DMC's main theme has always been "family," and the show gets that -- it's just that the show doesn't seem to understand how the games *use* that theme, so the show's execution of it comes off as internally confused and somewhat hypocritical.
