Proper journalism matters. Having editors and ombudsmen and multiple sourcing rules matters. It’s important to have the threat that if you report something falsely you may lose your job. Journalism matters for the right and for the left.

Disagree. I looked at the plot and instantly knew what I was seeing and how to interpret it. That’s the bar for efficacy. Sure, the color is a bit much, but nobody would think the countries are a spectrum.

I’m gonna pitch this anti-tanking idea again: set a win floor (~20 games?). Teams that don’t hit that floor are not allowed to collect luxury tax revenue payouts.

This creates a strong incentive for owners, who are the people calling the shots. It’s easy to measure and hard to game.

Just enjoyed The Battery, which is described as a zombie film but really is more of a remarkable human drama.

According to the internet, it was made for $6,000.

If she's interested in climate science bc she cares about the environment, my advice is study pure science (e.g. chem) at the undergrad level & transition to climate later.

Also, there's lots of work in energy, energy-efficiency, green building. It's not climate science but has climate impacts.
