A glass bowl filled with creamy Greek yoghurt, surrounded by fresh punnets of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. A colourful, healthy brunch!
"I'm slimming!" (in my best Denise voice). So it's Greek yoghurt and fruit for brunch. Would love something a bit more unhealthy. Future me better be grateful! #TheRoyaleFamily ๐

That's sweet. When I was five, I wanted to be a mahout because I was fascinated by elephants. I still ask myself what I want to be when I grow upโand now I'm about to reincarnate into my second (or maybe third?) career change. Funny how things change.

Infographic illustrating barriers to support for mental health and substance use problems: a lack of integrated care means that people struggling on both fronts are turned away from services for being โtoo complexโ; underinvestment in holistic services prevents people from getting support that meets their needs (e.g. Workforce shortages, Funding pressures on services, Compounded stigma & trauma); Fragmentation between NHS, local authority services and voluntary sector services leads to people falling through the gaps; Inequity
means that people from LGBTQ+ and racialised communities, as well as people within the criminal justice system, face even greater challenges in getting support; a lack of access to secure housing means that people can find their wider support needs hidden by homelessness.
People with both #SubstanceUse & #MentalHealth difficulties face profound barriers to care - including fragmented services, stigma, and a lack of culturally responsive support ๐

Quote from David Woodhead: "Drugs made me feel connected to the world and to people in ways I had never experienced, easing the sadness I had always known. Stopping drugs was entirely different. There was no relief or certainty in my decision. During early recovery, I slept in my friendโs spare room, screaming in my sleep...โฏ Progress was slow, but by day 99, I began to feel human again.โฏ"
Quote from David Woodhead: "A decade of sobriety. With love and support, a combination of services and opportunities, and a dogged and open-minded determination, a new life can be found, one of learning and self-discovery, and better mental health, proving that sometimes things donโt turn out as badly as we might once have feared."

โI represented a social worker in a fitness to practise hearing - at times it felt like a criminal courtโ - Community Care
A social worker's representative reflects on the repercussions of a six-year wait for a fitness to practise hearing
"The case law and legal precedents quoted were poor analogies for a social work investigation. I was particularly struck by the reference to the fifth report of the Shipman Inquiry a doctor estimated to have killed more than 200 people over three decades"
