I did do a visit to a charity which looks after children living by the railways, offering education and housing, some years ago. It did not feel too much like poverty tourism and kids seemed genuinely pleased to meet us. (Also charity has kept in touch and invites me to events). But agree often bad.

Need to improve train links from Heyford Park as a priority. Heyford station has one train an hour and apparently none on Sunday.

it's an intriguing idea but why not just combine tax and NI into one payment levied on all income? No one is quite sure what NI pays for nowadays and could also address some of the cliff edges within the system by introduci8ng graduated increases as income rises.

I don't know but you are right - it's a strange thing to lie about, not least because it can be disproved easily.

But his CV said he was only there 1993-4 which would not be long enough for even the first part of a medical degree in Oxford. Surprised that was not picked up at the time.

I thought the idea was that exmeptions would be given to people who could not get to their home without passing through one fo the ANPRs - but I might be wrong on that.

do you count as someone in the central area who will get an exemption? There's not really any other way to reach some roads, apart from passing through one of the six ANPRs.

It's also full of vague, unsubstantiated claims about safety. I don't think this adds anything to the debate about how we fulfil our duties to both asylum seekers and local communities.
