Yup, doing that, and with a lot of accounts muted or unfollowed, I am regaining my connections to people and enjoying my interactions again :)

I am devastated that I missed the sale window as I was traveling, but I’m also happy this is sold out everywhere. Chef’s kiss.

Rick Henderson (what a title!) is a fantastic arcade side-scrolling shooter with procedurally generated enemy waves as well as bosses that pick from a variety of different attack patterns. No two runs are the same, and with three different ships and multiple modes, this is an easy recommendation.

AI for translation: again, so used everywhere, and I feel shit for translators who have that as a profession. A friend of mine lost his job because of this. I still feel it’s important for a translator job because it’s not just translating words, it also tones and subtext. Makes a huge difference.

AI for animation: I am a bit iffy, but the base art is done by their artists, and if they’re ok with that then I can’t tell an artist they’re wrong. But I’d rather pay an animator. This isn’t a pet project I’m doing for fun at home for my own use.

I am more concerned with the “slaving away like the good old days” part of the statement.

Either way: AI for up scaling is used everywhere. It’s literally how DLSS works to render graphics.

Dunno if I’ll play the game all the way through, but I guess this is very much how I *felt* playing it rather than how I actually played it back then.

Also, props to me for finding a way to make things work, way back then! College me was definitely more resourceful than present me.

It was the same experience I had playing Wind Waker, which is why I’ve been craving an HD remaster of the game on the Switch. I’m giving Metroid Prime remastered on the Switch a shot. It’s such a different experience and obvious upgrade over my low res feed initial experience.

When I played Metroid Prime, I was in college. I didn’t have a TV, and connected the GameCube to my laptop via converted from composite video to USB input, and had an application to show the live feed for recording. It was terrible quality with jarring scan lines, but I played through.
