Loch Lomond, water, hills and trees, dramatic (but currently sunny) sky.
Sitting on a pontoon jetty, feet cooling nicely in Loch Lomond. This is very close to paradise. (And I have a bar of tablet for later) #lochlomond #westhighlandway #rowardennanhotel

Currently hurtling from Glasgow to London - passed these an hour or so ago. I think they add a beautiful and practical elegance to a landscape already tamed for housing, roads, trains and farming. Annoying Truss and Trump is a bonus.

I’m beginning to think this #parkrun thing might catch on…

Came down the stairs and found a huge spider lurking in the lounge doorway. Took mere seconds to get a glass, return - and find the spider gone. If I survive the night, I may have to move house.

INTERMEDIATHEQUE
The Intermediatheque museum in Tokyo is a delight… www.intermediatheque.jp/en … and the roof garden in the same tower block has a stunning view of Tokyo Station.
If you get a wobbly egg with your tempura, transfer it to the rice bowl, stab it to death and hey presto, egg fried rice.

Cuningar Loop #parkrun. The RD shouted “GO!” And the heavens opened. Torrential rain for the first km; puddles and general sogginess for the remainder. A lovely event - will definitely return, but in better weather!

Lochend Woods #parkrun in Dunbar. A 2-lapper, each lap a lap of two halves. One an energy-sapping plod round the playing fields, the other a glorious soft trail run through the woods. Lovely friendly volunteers. Not my best effort - it was a bit hot.

Are @avantiwestcoast.bsky.social active on here? Perfect journey (if slow because engineering works) EUS to Motherwell - then a 15 minute sit outside GLC. I’m very disappointed in you. OTOH maintaining a good DelayRepay average.

Ricky Running Sisters (mainly) milling around pre-parkrun.
Arbitrary 650 milestone ✅ at Ricky parkrun. An excellent morning - cake, coffee, Running Sisters, and chat.

parkrun finish tokens, mid-sort.
Me by the Tøyen start sign, trees behind.
Logistics miracle happened and I made it to Tøyen parkrun. A lovely park and a friendly volunteer team. Let’s not talk about the hills. Added bonus - some satisfying token sorting. #parkrun #love parkrun

I’ve given a lot of thought to this over the last year or two while parkrun have attempted to manage the competing factions. My conclusion is that it’s just a run in the park. 99.99999% of us don’t finish first. Stats are nice, but inclusivity is better.

The uphills - particularly the short but evil hill that hits you at around 2k and 4.5k. Overall, 238m total ascent, according to Garmin.

Me, before. Bergen in the background. Flags, Easter chicken and start sign in the foreground
Me, pink and sweaty. Chicken, flags and parkrun sign - and now a parkrun flag too!
Løvstien parkrun in Bergen. I’ve previously described various UK courses as brutal, but this is *really brutal*. OTOH, stunning views, and a lovely welcoming community. Before and after pics. The after more than ever a “proof of life” pic. #loveparkrun #parkrun

Me, smiling in the sun. Behind - runners chatting, Cassiobury start sign, parkrun flag and bandstand.
Avoided the congested start of @rickmansworthparkrun by popping over to @cassioburyparkrun. A lovely run in the sun to mark the 17th anniversary of my first run @bushyparkrun. Who’da thunk I’d still be plodding on after so long?!. #loveparkrun #parkrunuk

Well, that's sorted the rest of my weekend... and looks like I'll have to dig out my CD reader to add The Creatures to my (Deezer) copy of the playlist. Thank you!

Me, in blue 500 top, in front of the Erskine Waterfront start sign. Volunteers, river and hills in the background.
View from Erskine Waterfront parkrun. Bridge just visible in the distance, river in the foreground, hills and blue sky in the distance.
Headed to Erskine Waterfront for today’s #parkrun -perfect conditions, a lovely setting, fab volunteers and very nearly but not quite a CYPB. A good parkrunday!

Worthing parkrun, with some of the Running Sisters - Sun, sea, pebbles and a bitter Siberian wind. Busy parkrun, loads of marshals, simple out and back course along the prom. #parkrunuk #loveparkrun

I love the description of parkrun as “ruthlessly inclusive”!
I tail-walked at my local parkrun yesterday - so many smiles, hellos, cheers and thank yous. A relentlessly positive experience!

Me, smiling, and some parkrunners on the path behind, lapping me.
A cormorant spreading its wings while a goose looks on. At Batchworth Lake.
Tailwalking at Rickmansworth today - the smiley end of #parkrunuk

Word of the day, for the umpteenth time, is ‘apricate’, the sister of ‘apricity’. It means to bask in the warmth of the sun, especially on a chilly day.
