One was an itinerant farmer following the harvest. He taught me how to jump onto a moving train and explained it was the fastest way to get into the city for a weekend.
The other was a WWII vet who never talked about the war until a few years before he died and wow the alcoholism makes sense now.
Whether or not youβre running for Congress and trying to seem rugged (and you probably should run, because, look whoβs out there) what did your grandpas do for a living?

The default font is sooooooo difficult to read now.
I changed it and after a reset it went back to the default and I just can't with this bullshit.
I booted up a linux distro last weekend and hoo-boy.
Pro: I didn't realize how slow Windows loaded programs until they just opened. It's snappy in a way that I didn't expect it could be.
Con: I've grown complacent and need to re-learn how to use computers. This is not a con, this is a pro.
Without further ado, let me briefly offer an analysis of an artfully shitty bike rack in El Segundo, California.

To clarify, I'm fine with the aliens inside the wormhole, I just wish they weren't the gods of the Bajorans.
IMO being able to prove your gods are real kinda takes the edge off when you're trying to explore how religion works. Like, of COURSE you believe in the Prophets; they're RIGHT THERE
Like, left out of the series altogether, or it turns into a "ignore the man behind the curtain" thing?

I think you do a great job of making a point without being overly condescending. I think you could pull it off.
It would be nice to see someone dig in on this point.
Lebanon has ~300k Palestinians refugees, the descendants of Palestinians that fled the Nabka in 1948. These people are locked in gated ghettos. They are not given work permits or citizenship. Half of these people are children born in the camps to parents born in those camps. And now this.

This story, from @natezuke.bsky.social, is absolutely wild. A trans woman who never changed her gender marker was issued a letter invalidating her license. At the DMV they cut up her license, which had an "M" marker.

one of the problems with the "prediction markets have social utility" thesis is that acquiring true information to beat the markets works better the *shorter* the timeframe before the rest of the market gets that information because you can cash in more quickly x.com/itslirrato/s...
