The fundamental issue of calling a whiny baby a whiny baby is that the whiny baby is going to whine about being called a whiny baby in addition to the other things they were whining about.

STEREOGUM: People my age, we talk about how we were lucky that we didn’t have social media growing up, and there’s no record of all the dumb shit we said and did. You didn’t have social media, but everything you said and did in those years is on record, and you’ve got to live with it now. That’s tough.

VIOLENT J: And the amount of gay Juggalos out there is really surprising. I think about them doing their research and getting the old records, getting excited about it, and getting their hearts broke or something, you know? I tell my daughter, β€œFor the rest of your life, when your friends ask why your dad said that, say it’s because your dad was a fool. Don’t defend me. Say I was a fool then, but I’m not now.” There’s no excuse. I was going with the flow, and that’s the very thing we preach against β€” being a sheep. And that’s what I was doing.

Reminder that Violent J of Insane Clown Posse has the correct response to a lot of the shitty things he said in the early days.

"Anna, Lindsey Halligan Here." Anna Bower Monday, October 20, 2025, 5:40 PM Share On: f X inK My Signal exchange with the interim U.S. attorney about the Letitia James grand jury.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

β€œAnna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Contractors on contracts that started last year, at the very least, can continue to work through their paid period of performance.

Also there's government civilians paid through non-appropriated funds, but I doubt that's the case here. These are likely contractors.

Every time I'm at a conference and the host says "I want you all to open chatgpt and ask it to do [insert random thing] I want to scream.

Okay, it works for this one thing you asked it to do. But it doesn't work for what I need it to do (be right, mostly).

Stop telling me I need to learn AI.

Turns out the dude was likely scamming us with a broken box he knew was broken and I don't know how he expected it to go. Cable TV back then was wild. Cable company finally sent us a new guy and the box he brought worked just fine.

I have a story somewhat related to this.

Late 80's my family got cable TV. A guy came out, hooked it up, set it to a channel and walked off.

No other channel worked. He came back and turned it to that channel and said "it's working I don't see the issue"

AI bros don't see the issue.

I'll post the video later, but essentially: dude pulled halfway into the bike lane in front of me, and the passenger opened the door into the rest of the bike lane right in front of me. It was not open barely far, and my now-bent handlebar took most of the damage.

Well, it finally happened.

I got doored in the bike lane on 14th St NW yesterday evening on my way home from work.

No major injuries, and the cops took one look at my gopro and said the driver was obviously at fault.

How much would you pay for a "I just want an operating system so I can work" version of Windows?

No Co-Pilot, Cortana, Edge, One Drive, Microsoft Store, To Do, Candy Crush, ads, or data collection. Your start menu will be installed programs only.

I honestly feel like $999 would be fair for this.

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel itβ€”pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

Two plant-based protein powders contained enough lead that our experts advise against consuming them. Naked Nutrition’s Mass Gainer powder contained 7.7 micrograms of lead per serving, which is roughly 1,570 percent of CR’s level of concern for the heavy metal. One serving of Huel’s Black Edition powder contained 6.3 micrograms of lead, or about 1,290 percent of CR’s daily lead limit.

Two other powders contained lead between 400 and 600 percent of CR’s level of concern: Garden of Life’s Sport Organic Plant-Based Protein and Momentous’ 100% Plant Protein. Consumers should limit these to once a week, Akinleye says. (See company responses below.)

The only non-plant-based protein powder with lead detected at over 200 percent of CR’s level of concern was MuscleMeds’ Carnivor Mass powder. Six additional plant-based powders, five dairy-based powders and shakes, and one beef powder contained lead above CR’s level of concern.

We also found measurable levels of cadmium and inorganic arsenic in some products. One serving of Huel’s Black Edition plant-based protein powder contained 9.2 micrograms of cadmium, more than double the level that public health authorities and CR’s experts say may be harmful to have daily, which is 4.1 micrograms.

Another plant-based option, Vega’s Premium Sport powder, had enough cadmium that one serving would also put you just over that level. In one dairy-based product, Optimum Nutrition’s Serious Mass whey protein powder, we also detected 8.5 micrograms per serving of inorganic arsenic, which is twice the limit of what our scientists say is safe to consume daily.
