I demand the Israeli government keep its hands off Chris Smalls; release Chris and all those it abducted; allow the Handala to continue on to Gaza; end its policy of imposing deliberate starvation on the people of Gaza; and cease its illegal occupation of all Palestinian territories.

My friend Chris Smalls was the only black man among the 20 activists on the @freedomflotilla.bsky.social. He also appears to be the only passenger violently assaulted by Israeli forces after those on the boat were abducted before they could deliver life-saving aid to starving children in Gaza.

I used a predictive model to conclude the actual death toll in Gaza is way higher than the media is reporting. As of July 21, Israel had killed ~434,000 people, or 20.7% of Gaza’s entire pre-conflict population.

Equivalent to 70M people dead in the US.
