Well tape has physical limits. As I understand, the standard was two hours because it was well balanced to have good quality, low tracking issues, and decent durability.

To get more duration you'd need thinner tape, so you could have really long tapes but it would be risky to ever watch them

What you note down is highly particular to how you think. Under-taking notes can be a pain, but many underestimate how much time wasting there can be in over-taking notes as well.

recording sessions. I use time-stamps corresponding to a running clock on my recording software, OBS, which I can later refer back to when editing.

I use a program called ObsidianMD. Typically I will have a main research article that links to sub-articles on various sources. As I find them, I just dump the links in there and later on will create the sub-articles where-in I take the notes.

For games, I usually make sub-articles on the
