British psychoanalyst and leading figure of the Kleinian tradition. He specialized in applying psychoanalytic theory to social sciences, anthropology, and philosophy.

(January 28, 1921), whose words remind us that "The goal of analysis is reached when, through interpretive resolution of the transference as a resistance, the patient is effectively separated from the analyst" (p.758)
