20.02.2026 21:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To those who honor the day, today is the Japanese American Day of Remembrance. On February 19, 1942, the signing of Executive Order 9066 led to the WWII incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans. A dark part of USA's history. One that may be repeating itself today.
Remember, Reflect, Renew.
Wow

19.02.2026 18:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well yeah, but I was objecting to the idea of Sherlock fucking her or any others. He didn't fuck anyone in those movies. Even though he was having the whole bromance and jealousy with Watson.
19.02.2026 14:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They shouldn't have killed Irene off. A total fridging. They could have just had her leave a warning message about Moriarty and go into hiding. But the other woman character was not a love interest for Holmes. She was sort like a client joining the case like Violet Hunter in the Copper Beeches.
19.02.2026 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just because modern terms didnβt exist yet doesnβt mean that behaviors and feelings didnβt exist. There were spinster aunts and confirmed bachelors. There have been celibate religious orders. Doyle may have intended Holmes to be celibate due to his career but it can be read as his preference too
18.02.2026 01:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just more rumors. Nothing official
17.02.2026 23:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate it!
17.02.2026 20:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes he tricks Holmes in the movie, but overall heβs much more faithful to canon than Bruce had been. Stalwart and competent. Then he was followed by Granadaβs two competent Watsons and later Jude Law, Martin Freeman and Lucy Liu. No more bumbling sidekicks after Duval.
17.02.2026 00:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They cast Duvall because they wanted to restore Watson as a smart doctor, not a bumbling Nigel Bruce sidekick.
16.02.2026 23:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Walter Paget illustration from Dying Detective of a police inspector capturing Culverton Smith while Holmes and Watson watch in the background
See this Walter Paget illustration for the Dying Detective? On the wall behind Sherlock's bed, there's a framed photo of a moustached man. Also peeking out from behind the bed is Watson. See the resemblance? Holmes keeps a photo of Watson on his wall! So cute. β€οΈ
16.02.2026 16:03 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow. Fascinating personality. And a non-consummated marriage like John Ruskin and Effie Gray
16.02.2026 15:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs my old website. Sorry I just couldnβt keep up updating it.
16.02.2026 01:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Watson's journal entries to Holmes in "Hound" open with "My dear Holmes" and adopt a reportorial tone of a student reporting to a teacher, revealing Watson's psychological dependence even during physical separation." They also seems to think that Watson is younger than Holmes. I'm not so sure
12.02.2026 06:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There was a recent post on Reddit discussing statistics on how Holmes and Watson address each other in person and in letters. It also includes a note on how Watson is psychologically dependent on Holmes, even when they're apart. www.reddit.com/r/SherlockHo...
12.02.2026 06:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I finally spotted the armadillo. He has a pink face and light blue tutu. I saw him backstage when Kermit and Scooter first discuss cutting acts. Later when Kermit says heβs trying to be fair, the armadillo is on the left, behind Fozzie
12.02.2026 03:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watson is certainly quick to action. In Illustrious Client, after Holmes was beaten, Watson threatened to attack Gruner if Holmes would give him permission. At least he checks with Holmes first
11.02.2026 20:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Something about an armadillo in a tutu. I didnβt see that muppet, and I think it was an inside joke. But if anyone saw that armadillo, let me know where.
11.02.2026 06:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But it wasnβt a flop
11.02.2026 01:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0His βmerits as a housekeeperβ when heβs just ordering food in. **eyeroll**
11.02.2026 01:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If Holmes truly doesnβt trust Watson and would rather he follow instructions blindly then he shouldnβt have sent Watson alone, and pretended to stay in London. Itβs like heβll never be satisfied
11.02.2026 01:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Holmes criticized Watsonβs sleuthing in stories like Solitary Cyclist, Lady Frances, and Retired Colourman, so itβs no wonder heβs desperate for assurances that heβs doing it right this time.

10.02.2026 12:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For #BlackHistoryMonth, if you have Disney+ and/or Hulu, check out the Chevalier movie starring Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Joseph Bologne, the violin virtuoso, composer, and swordsman in 18th Century France. www.dailykos.com/stories/2021...
10.02.2026 12:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is the kind of thing I would read
09.02.2026 23:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs Holmesβs fault for living secretly on the moor and getting Watsonβs reports forwarded to him one day late
08.02.2026 23:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hooray
08.02.2026 23:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think thereβs an animated adaptation with Peter OβToole that keeps most of the story but just omits Drebber and Stangerson being Mormons.
08.02.2026 23:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have seen it, but I actually can't stand their Sir Henry. Holmes and Watson hugging at their reunion is good, though.
