He looks like Frederic Dorr Steele’s illustrations of Holmes

To those who honor the day, today is the Japanese American Day of Remembrance. On February 19, 1942, the signing of Executive Order 9066 led to the WWII incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans. A dark part of USA's history. One that may be repeating itself today.

Remember, Reflect, Renew.

Well yeah, but I was objecting to the idea of Sherlock fucking her or any others. He didn't fuck anyone in those movies. Even though he was having the whole bromance and jealousy with Watson.

They shouldn't have killed Irene off. A total fridging. They could have just had her leave a warning message about Moriarty and go into hiding. But the other woman character was not a love interest for Holmes. She was sort like a client joining the case like Violet Hunter in the Copper Beeches.

Just because modern terms didn’t exist yet doesn’t mean that behaviors and feelings didn’t exist. There were spinster aunts and confirmed bachelors. There have been celibate religious orders. Doyle may have intended Holmes to be celibate due to his career but it can be read as his preference too

Yes he tricks Holmes in the movie, but overall he’s much more faithful to canon than Bruce had been. Stalwart and competent. Then he was followed by Granada’s two competent Watsons and later Jude Law, Martin Freeman and Lucy Liu. No more bumbling sidekicks after Duval.

They cast Duvall because they wanted to restore Watson as a smart doctor, not a bumbling Nigel Bruce sidekick.

See this Walter Paget illustration for the Dying Detective? On the wall behind Sherlock's bed, there's a framed photo of a moustached man. Also peeking out from behind the bed is Watson. See the resemblance? Holmes keeps a photo of Watson on his wall! So cute. ❀️

"Watson's journal entries to Holmes in "Hound" open with "My dear Holmes" and adopt a reportorial tone of a student reporting to a teacher, revealing Watson's psychological dependence even during physical separation." They also seems to think that Watson is younger than Holmes. I'm not so sure

There was a recent post on Reddit discussing statistics on how Holmes and Watson address each other in person and in letters. It also includes a note on how Watson is psychologically dependent on Holmes, even when they're apart. www.reddit.com/r/SherlockHo...

I finally spotted the armadillo. He has a pink face and light blue tutu. I saw him backstage when Kermit and Scooter first discuss cutting acts. Later when Kermit says he’s trying to be fair, the armadillo is on the left, behind Fozzie

Watson is certainly quick to action. In Illustrious Client, after Holmes was beaten, Watson threatened to attack Gruner if Holmes would give him permission. At least he checks with Holmes first

Something about an armadillo in a tutu. I didn’t see that muppet, and I think it was an inside joke. But if anyone saw that armadillo, let me know where.

If Holmes truly doesn’t trust Watson and would rather he follow instructions blindly then he shouldn’t have sent Watson alone, and pretended to stay in London. It’s like he’ll never be satisfied

Holmes criticized Watson’s sleuthing in stories like Solitary Cyclist, Lady Frances, and Retired Colourman, so it’s no wonder he’s desperate for assurances that he’s doing it right this time.

It’s Holmes’s fault for living secretly on the moor and getting Watson’s reports forwarded to him one day late

I think there’s an animated adaptation with Peter O’Toole that keeps most of the story but just omits Drebber and Stangerson being Mormons.

I have seen it, but I actually can't stand their Sir Henry. Holmes and Watson hugging at their reunion is good, though.
