I will watch it when I'm back home from Japan, and make myself very very sad. Already depressed the 3 weeks holiday is over and we go back first thing tomorrow 😢

Like everywhere else, you cross November 1st and it's Christmas already 😆 The Pokemon Centre already had the winter goods when we arrived in Sendai a few days before Halloween.

Japanese curry from CoCo Ichibanya

I understand the hype over CoCo Ichibanya. The curry is very good and it's so customisable!

Mine is beef curry, spice level 3 (which already tingles a bit), winter vegetable set (pumpkin, lotus roots, etc), half spinach and spicy roasted garlic.

We're actually going to a concert tonight to see Wind Walkers & I See Stars, so may not have time for sushi and Karaoke.
Also planning to get a drink at our hotel bar with views over Shinjuku.

Last time in Kyushu, it was green pepper. So don't expect this to be vanilla and chocolate. Though one half does have chocolate.

We couldn't say goodbye to this special port city without a whole lot of fresh seafood. Starting with a nokke-don at the fish market for breakfast and finishing with local sushi and kaiyaki miso for dinner.

Definitely some fish I had never even heard of before.

Today was a relaxed day in Aomori. We visited the San'nai-Maruyama archaeological site. It's a Unesco World Heritage site with remains & reconstructions of Jōmon period structures from 3900-2200BC.
The museum explained the history and lifestyle of the population really well. I was very impressed.

The neputa floats in Hirosaki are a bit different from Aomori's. They are more fan-shaped. We also saw a collection of floats from before the Meiji restoration.

And there's the little western style building shown in the Flying Witch anime (it is a cafe but we didn't go in).

Posting day 2+3, I was knackered last night.
We visited nearby Hirosaki with its castle ruins, peaceful temple, beautiful garden, and more neputa festival floats.

Until the UK goes back to winter time. Japan has no daylight saving, so there will be an extra hour difference.

Then we went to the Neputa Warasse museum. They had some of this year's floats on display, all superb works of art. There was an interactive performance, and we got to try the taiko and cymbals!

Finished the day with a most delicious dinner at a local izakaya. We managed with our broken Japanese 😅

Selected pics from yesterday. Early flight to Aomori. We were that tired so explored the city a bit.

First was delicious local ramen (made with dried sardine) and a sampling aomori apple products at A-factory.

Chilling in the lounge until boarding. Will have a refresh with the body wipes I took with me, and remove my makeup.
Bit more relaxed now that we are just waiting for our flight.

Just one glass, but i don't wanna drink too much or I'll be dehydrated and feeling awful.

Also, I have prepared everything I possibly can to try and get some rest on the plane: the comfiest pillow, eye mask, earplugs, smart choice of seat, etc.

But i have never been able to sleep in any moving vehicle, so I doubt that'll work 😭

Starting the long looong journey to Japan. Train to Brum, coach to Heathrow, then finally our flight to Haneda in the evening.

I can't wait to be there, but until we board the plane, I am just going to be an anxious mess 😫

Also, just saying: young children are just as likely to cause damage as pets .... But we don't ban children do we?

I think it's fair to demand a higher deposit and/or charge a professional cleaning fee (even if it's clean there might be allergies), but a ban is bollocks.

Typical we would both go from Leam to Manchester and miss each other 😆 It's a huge venue though so not surprised.
We walked after the show, our hotel was only about 25min away.

Architects were f*ckin sick, I am happy now 😊 And the co-op live is honestly a pretty decent venue for an arena.
