That’s because she’s a member of the democratic caucus. If the centrist Democrats in charge propose an initiative, she’s gonna vote in line unless she has a major problem with the policy. AOC is probably similar. If you put them in positions of leadership, I’m sure they’d be more progressive.

Jimmy Carter presided over a very different society than the one we live in now. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not against Talarico. I think he is an up-and-coming star for the party and he would be fine. But if I had my choice, I would stick with Jasmine.

She doesn’t wear it on her sleeve or make it the largest part of her social and political identity the way Talarico does. He graduated from a seminary school after all. She is also far more combative which is a good thing when dealing with today’s dishonestly combative republicans.

You had me thinking about Stephen A. Smith. Once a journalist and now a screaming sports talk guy on TV who thinks he can run for president and be successful when he has no experience or expertise in politics, government, or any other adjacent arena. One Donald Trump is enough thank you very much.

Why they continue to vote for these cold blooded monsters is beyond me. Being uneducated might be a start, but how can you be so stupid as to see your life spiraling for years as a result of Republican governance and blame it on something other than the people in charge?

I will donate to your campaign as soon as I can. I’m not from Missouri, but I can relate as I’m from Florida. I’m not sure which is worse.

My dad’s father and his entire family were wiped out in Lithuania. My great grandfather offered to take him to America with the family if he married my grandmother. His family refused to allow him to go. He was 16 in 1936, and I doubt he made it to 18. 85% of the Jews in Lithuania or exterminated.

I can’t stand to listen to him at all. I just read for the highlights or really the lowlights the next day. There’s never any highlights.

It’s couldn’t. I couldn’t care less, not I could care less. I know, grammar police, etc.. It’s just a pet peeve of mine (like when someone spells lose with two o’s). Carry on!

He knows nothing about what’s really going on there. He’s just trying to say something nice and not realizing the hole he dug for himself.

Threads was my first refuge once I quit X. About a month after, Bluesky finally opened its doors and I was one of the people who were in that initial surge when Bluesky first became a thing. No it’s not as big or engaged as X, but I don’t have to deal with the awful toxicity of that Musk hellhole.

Heartbreaking. And totally avoidable, but we have a government that is led by a bunch of sociopaths. They won’t lose a wink of sleep over this or any of the other atrocities they’ve committed.
