One time I took my car in to have the oil changed when it said to do that and the guy there was like β€œare you sure? you could wait”

hey @iainnd.bsky.social did you see this

I always thought this was weird in movies, but working in a coffee shop I see somebody burn a bagel almost every single day

There’s not one moment in Halloween With The Kranks where somebody goes β€œdidn’t this happen 20 years ago with Christmas instead?” It is never once acknowledged

I would 100% write it if I could get it made with as much of the original cast returning as possible

Instead of the umbrella scene at the market, Luther Krank goes to Spirit Halloween and gets a bucket of fake blood dumped on him, which seals his hatred of the holiday

02.11.2025 23:37 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

So Luther is like "we spent 10,000 on Halloween last year! let's skip Halloween" and then Nora insists they still give to Halloween charities. After word spreads about them skipping Halloween a group of people led by Dan Aykroyd loudly sing the Monster Mash outside their house

Sitting alone in my house thinking about Halloween With The Kranks and laughing

I gotta get Hollywood on the phone

A 20 years later sequel to Christmas With The Kranks has so much potential. And by β€œpotential” I mean it should be a near scene-for-scene recreation of the first film

The guy who directed Christmas with the Kranks is the guy responsible for changing the title of The Exorcist III to β€œThe Exorcist III” and adding an exorcism to the movie

instead of Santa Claus suddenly turning out to be real it’s the Grim Reaper or something

A customer just told me he skipped Halloween this year and I thought β€œwhat if that happened to a 75 year old Tim Allen”

Just got an idea for a movie. Halloween With The Kranks

Yeah I’ve explained it to you before a few times and it hasn’t taken so

I get why Richard Fleischer doesn't talk about every movie he made though, and it's part of why I admire him so much as a filmmaker – it was just his job to make movies. Would you mention every single project you ever had to do at work in an autobiography? Probably not!

02.11.2025 06:32 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

He directed 48 movies and he doesn't mention directing 20 of them. Even that's generous because some of the ones I'm counting as him talking about are "here's a quote my AD said on set" or "people like this movie" and nothing else

02.11.2025 06:27 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Insane bit in Richard Fleischer's autobiography where he's shooting a huge biblical epic with thousands of extras and he goes "whoa that extra has a really interesting face, let's make her a featured extra" and then it turns out she's Sharon Tate

02.11.2025 05:49 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

He actually doesn't mention directing a lot of films he made, which is nuts to me, because if I directed 48 movies and wrote an autobiography I would definitely mention every single one

Just saw a George C. Scott movie where he acts alongside his 3rd, 4th, and 5th wife

One thing I don't get is when a director takes over a movie at the last minute (let's say a week or even during shooting) and then turns out a total banger. How'd they do that

02.11.2025 03:44 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I really like it, but more for the reason of when directors get old they make movies where their style goes further and further and the normal stuff that makes a movie comprehensible goes by the wayside. The actually good/better version of this is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but I like both

Somebody asked me if we turn into a bar later on in the night

02.11.2025 01:55 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Has anybody noticed that I have way more weirder actions than everybody else. Despite the fact that I’m normal

02.11.2025 01:06 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I hope when I open up the video he’s just talking about drive-in movies

01.11.2025 23:34 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

A customer asked me a bunch of questions about the drive-in, which I had the answers to because I’m a movie-head. Then he handed me a piece paper with a picture of his name in the YouTube search bar and told me if I searched that I could find a video where he explains the mysteries of the universe

Using the Motern Method in the way other people use Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies
