Like, that is one of the POINTS of dubbing a show - to introduce new audiences to it, and for some that opens up a whole new world of culture and entertainment. That was the DIC dub for me, and I doubt I’d have the same love for Sailor Moon without it.

And also, would she even know about Sailor Moon without the DIC dub? Would she have found it at a time when it could resonate so deeply? My guess is no, that attention would have gone to a different show that was widely available in the language she speaks.

I was nervous about posting this for professional reasons and then put on the pit stop to see one of the stars of my movie talking about foreskin so never mind
