lol the whole discourse around the MLS (and possibly NWSL, USL men) calendar change has been so funny, like we're already doing this literally right now, it's worked pretty well so far

It wouldn't be cold, since the final would be in June.

Granted NWSL is gonna pull a decent crowd regardless of the location, but the atmosphere is nowhere near what it could be if the higher seed hosted.

The other women's D1 league does not have a nuetral site championship game. Year 1 it ended up Fort Lauderdale vs Tampa Bay with TB hosting. Was an outstanding atmosphere.

Imagine if they had pre-picked Spokane, or Brooklyn, or even a closer place, like Lexington, as host. It woulda sucked.

Much like the men's side, sadly the only way anything like that happens is if USL does it internally (which IMO they should with eventual women's pro D2/D3 levels).

USSF and FIFA (despite sporting merit & pro/rel being in FIFA's bylaws) or anyone else ain't forcing MLS/NWSL to do anything lol 💰

Not really apples to apples though, in that the USWNT stars were literally paid by USSF to play in NWSL for many years and only recently has the investment in Europe accelerated. It wasn’t much of a competition/threat until recently
