yeah the “necessity” of depriving Israelis of basic human rights falls under what I was preempting as “deroposting” but Palestinians are already deprived of basic human rights. why is this unacceptable for Israelis “ever” but acceptable for Palestinians “any timeframe short of forever”?

1) yes, this was a worry I had about it at the time though it was so much better than anything else I put it aside. the correct way to negate this would be to distinguish between descriptive and prescriptive "reality", and insist on the prescriptive validity of e.g. norms against targeting civilians
