the internet loves to give modern pokemon shit for its graphics, but by refusing to participate in the AAA graphics arms race, they have unambigiously dominated the culture. they won.

According to payment processors, purchasing fictional sexy art is grossly immoral.

Betting on school children getting blown up is fine though.

The funny thing about taking most of my video game news from podcasts is that I often meet games quite late. So yeah, I expected this to be a pretty game.

I did not expect it to be WTF-how-does-this-look-so-incredible-every-single-second beautiful Oo

Even with the highlights saying where to click next, I felt a bit lost because of all the things to do and follow before I had even started to actually read the info and get into the puzzles ^^’

That being said, it’s easy to see the passion / research in your game, best of luck with it!

Kinda fun but after 2 runs I have a bit of trouble understanding how I’m supposed to survive for very long 🤔(I can see the game would like me to run through the loop infinitely but… 2nd run, I had a shitload of money and no idea what to do to really improve)

Balatro, but for chess. It doesn’t hide it, and it’s a really good Balatro for chess!

It reduces the toughness of it being chess by having smaller grids, but it’s a game that asks for way more strategy than Balatro, because it’s… well, chess ^^’

Good fun, lovely demo :)

This is kind of incredible! So stylish, so joyful, so colorful, so fun, and, I did not expect this, but actually seems mechanically rich, everyone should take a look at Denshattack!

I’ll never look at trains the same :’) (and all real trains are now disappointing failures for me)

My first run was boring, but the second one was really gratifying.

I think it needs to be better at explaining itself though, I have no idea what some upgrades / relics (?) actually did.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcards from Vampire Survivors

OK, this is actually interesting! There’s some real thought here in how to make this a fast deck-building game with a focus on combos, and actually very few different cards. Not being able to skip cards is interesting…

I wonder if I would still like Survivors-like / horde survivors / bullet heavens if I had not tried making GAME (not) OVER?

I loved Vampire Survivors when it got released in early access

Now I can’t really get into any of them without feeling kinda down :(

I say this with all the love in my heart because Blue Prince is incredible - working 80 hours a week for 8 years very likely made this game take longer to make than without crunch.

More time spent working does not always equate to making forward progress. Crunch often equates to negative progress.
