First Streamplace architecture blog post! I wrote about Streamplace's embedded atproto PDS, why we decided to do it this way, and some thoughts about the "Static PDS" use case more generally.

Streamplace lexicons are now properly published and self-hosted by did:web:stream.place! It automatically pushes changes on the firehose and whatnot. Pretty happy with this design (and we're gonna use the embedded PDS stuff for other things too, like labeling!)

What's next for us? With the mobile launch behind us, we're going to be pushing hard on the multi-node features and syndication. We haven't invented decentralized livestreaming if stream.place is hosting all the streams!

Our vision is not for Streamplace to be the one app for all streams, but a toolkit to enable livestreaming in a thousand different apps and websites. Livestreaming is too important to be owned by a few megacorporations.

v0.6.15 of Streamplace is live. The biggest addition: we have docs now! Many thanks to @natalie.sh!!! stream.place/docs

For now they just document the `place.stream.*` lexicons and include a getting started guide for contributors. If you wanted to hack on Streamplace, now you have a place to start!

okkkkkkkkk the new version of the @stream.place overlay maker is live (now allowing for custom feed display, custom html, and local storage saved presets): spoverlay.veryroundbird.house (maybe someday i'll give it a cooler name lmao)
