my original fixes were
- redefining the variable i use inside of the object's scope
- moving the declaration to a proper function (instead of inside an anonymous function)

both worked, but none were as easy as just giving my variable an explicit type. bonus is that i get to make a funny comment

after some light investigating it seems like it was some sort of type inference related issue? like it gets confused when figuring out the type of a templated delegated property and making it figure out the type in some way before it gets to the setter (and has to guess it from that) fixes the crash
