Interannual to multidecadal climate oscillations occurred during Cryogenian glaciation During the two Cryogenian snowball Earth glaciations, the Sturtian (ca. 717–658 Ma) and Marinoan (ca. 639–635 Ma), ice persisted in the tropics for mi…

🚨 Our new Snowball Earth paper is now out!

In this paper, we analyse varves from the Garvellach Islands in Scotland to uncover short term climate cycles during Snowball Earth.

Some super fun rocks and surprising cyclicity!

This Map Lets You Plug in Your Address to See How It's Changed Over the Past 750 Million Years The interactive tool enables users to home in on a specific location and visualize how it has evolved between the Cryogenian period and the present

Enter your location & track it thru geologic time. It's sooooo awesome βš’οΈ www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/m...

Very grateful to have been awarded the 2024 Harold Reading Medal from BSRG for my paper on signal shredding and detection in sedimentary systems.

I had a great time doing these experiments during my PhD, ending in a paper that I’m super proud of. Thanks BSRG! πŸŽ‰

Science’s 2024 Breakthrough of the Year: Opening the door to a new era of HIV prevention A drug with a novel mechanism protects people against the AIDS virus for 6 months. It could speed the end of the epidemicβ€”if those who need it most get access

Honoured and humbled that our discovery of mantle waves is one of the runners-up for the @Science Breakthrough of the Year, 2024.
