It seems like a common trend for Nintendo to launch very slowly before blowing up.

That's not to say the launch lineup is bad. I just think people were kind of turned away from of them being spin-offs, or in the case of Metroid Prime 4, being as average as Metroid can be.

Nintendo's greatest hater would pretend to be a Nintendo fan, such as putting up a profile picture of Zelda, pretend they know a lot about Nintendo, and then proceed to put a hate comment on every Twitter post... wait, this isn't Twitter.

I can't say I've used Joy Cons extensively like this, but I think the individual buttons have become useful with button remapping, especially with the Switch 2 mouse mode where I don't want to use certain buttons on the right Joy Con.

The Wii U is an absolutely great console after modding.

I would change Nintendo to charging a premium for almost everything.

They may have patented their game mechanics, but Bamco and Squeenix don't seem to be afraid of them.

There is a difference between enhanced backwards compatible games re-released later than the original vs being released simultaneously, and you just refuse to acknowledge that.

Now you're just factoring in a game that wasn't released in any manner on the Switch. It has no relevance to this conversation.

The Switch 2 has more than 4 games. You are just hell bent on believing that a last gen game released during the next console's generation is strictly in the last gen.

No new Wii games made by Nintendo were released during the Wii U.

They are Switch 1 games released during the Switch 2 era. It's not like the Wii U where no new Wii games were released.

I'm talking about "Switch 2 Editions" of new games being released. Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4 specifically.

That's backwards compatibility, not cross generation.

This is indeed clickbait, and so are some of the replies. This kind of shit belongs on Twitter.

That logic makes no sense in the context of cross generation releases.

Just because a game was designed for the previous generation, it doesn't mean it's automatically inferior than a game designed for the current gen.

That's a shame. The Switch 2 Game Cards are slow, but not overly slow that they can't run Bethesda games.

A universal standard that still requires an installation to your internal storage. The games do not run directly off the discs because they are too slow.

The Switch and Switch 2 game cards run games directly off the card, and will save internal storage as a result.

I think they realize that there is actually a use case for game cards compared to Blu-ray discs. Plus, it's good PR for them considering the amount of backlash from Key Cards

Some 4:3 games have been developed with 16:10 or 16:9 in mind. This is especially true going into the 2nd half of the 6th generation.

The benefits vary between genres, but I'd say a lot of racing games and other high speed games almost NEEDED the added screen width.
