I wasn’t actually thinking about the token drawing a card! But yeah, “1-drop that makes an artifact token on ETB” is what I had in mind. I’d accept a 1-drop that makes a Mutagen, for instance :)

I like the card, but I feel like it would really need to be a creature to fit with the rest of the “cycle”

On second thought, "maybe black will get one soon" didn't go so hot this time around 🥲 (Blood Fountain and Shambling Ghast don't count in my book)

In other words, it sounds like you’re comfortable with Magic existing in high fantasy settings, but not low fantasy.

That makes sense to me, especially given that Magic’s IP is itself high fantasy :)

The cube night was a blast! 😄

First, I drafted UW fliers in a DOM set cube. Deck was just missing a Divination.

Next, I drafted BWu in my Sci-Fi Cube. Deck was a weird mix of control and sac elements, but played alright overall.

It sounded like people enjoyed my cube, which always makes me happy!

I'm inclined to agree—power creep is commonplace to the point of being trivial, and even if you can stomach power creep on a small scale, the ubiquity does feel bad.

As someone who plays a lot of chaos draft, it sometimes feels like Magic's backwards compatibility is hanging on by a thread 🫠

I won't claim the creatures in Invasion were very strong, but as far as I'm concerned it's a great set!

TFW a first-pickable uncommon is now:
- common
- colorless
- gy hate
- a changeling

*cries in magic boomer*

The truly wicked don’t carry roles on them 😈

I see the resemblance, but I’d say Converter is much less clunky and impacts the game a lot more
