I'm really sad for the Dragon Age Veilguard voice actors who never got to speak about their work because EA never signed the SAG AFTRA contract protecting their talent from AI. They got to do one interview and that's it. Depressing.

Friendly reminder that ea still has yet to sign the SAG-AFTRA voice actors contract that involves AI protections for VAs. Really would have been helpful for the game to have their VAs promoting it, especially when one of them streams on Twitch.

If you have a problem with all of the ~modern language~ Taash uses but not with all the ~modern language~ Iron Bull uses, you might have a bias to unpack.

Whatever EA say or do in throwing Veilguard and Bioware under the bus, they can’t take away that the DA team made us a game about fighting darkness, keeping hold of hope, and being kind in a time we all truly needed it.

EA has learned all the wrong lessons from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and it's going to be disastrous for the future of Mass Effect 5—if it even has a future No EA RPG is safe from the publisher's obsession with live service.

If I really dig into my empathy, I can kinda see the thinking here. Like, let's say you don't actually know much about games. You're in a big office with a bunch of other execs who also don't know much about games. What are they all saying?

"Live games do big numbers!"
"Action games are hot!"

Let’s be clear: you don’t have those numbers. Nobody outside of EA does, and we only know what they tell us - though the fact they’ve said little, in fact, says a lot. For a return of the series after 10 years, they wanted numbers they could ballyhoo. Whatever they are, they didn’t get them.

Dragon Age has been a part of my life for years and the games and the community that I found because of it saved me when everything in my life was falling apart and I was trying to pick up the pieces and figure out who I was. I'm heartbroken for the everyone hurt by this and fuck EA! #ThankYouDADevs

Genuinely kind of heartbreaking, this realization.

I'm trying really hard not to say a lot of colorful angry words directed at a company that has laid off some of it's best developers that helped shape their studio. Laying off devs without even owning up to it in your announcement is bullshit. I don't know, I'm just so mad.
