so, the argument would be something like 'a robot car is still a car and cars in cities are suboptimal compared to almost every other kind of transpo system.' it's not a tech argument, it's a design one.

you could argue that a shift from human drivers to robots could mean lower VMT, less need for parking, etc., but you could equally argue that a shift to robot cars could mean fences that prevent pedestrian incursion. we don't know which way it will go!

it's not about the cars, it's about the streets. Shifting driving from humans to robots does not necessarily mean that are streets become any less car-oriented and may slow down, or stop entirely, movement in that direction. people-oriented streets are good and this still isn't that
