me, "oxtails", "murray maids dust-busting", and my merch at the punk rock art market at the lost well in austin, texas 2015. its always fun looking back at old photos and the problematic prints i no longer sell, like the numerous wody allen and bill cosby prints. it was wrong in 2015 and i totally knew better but they also sold the best. that being said if i was lucky i sold enough of these framed prints to cover my venting fees and bar tab. that would make riding the bus or talking an unsuspecting friend into giving me and my stuff a ride home easier. i am still lugging those paintings around. i have prints of murray-maids.

"money plant for paying the bills" acrylic on canvas 2011 not for sale when i was in fifth grade i had a crush on a girl in my class. i got a lot of crushes back then. before school one day i found a pretty purple flower in the front yard and picked it for her. i showed my mom and she got as mad as when she overheard me misuse the word "blowjob" a few years later. i didn't get the soap treatment, but the scars from that guilt trip lasted from 1990 until 2011, when i was visiting my family for the holidays and realized i didn't have a gift for my mom so i made her this. i think this was the christmas she felt the need to lie to me about the family going to europe without me. when i tried to talk to them about it; my step dad had no problem pointing out i was an asshole, without any of the emotional intelligence to realize i was acting like them and talking to them the way they talk to people they might "not be mad at just disappointed". it took me another couple of years to really wrap my own head around it. we were close once. its weird the contempt i get when i try to remind them of that when attempting to appeal to their bare minimum of human decency.
