Would definitely like to second recommending people check out some MG Mason;
Recently he has published a couple of great old school ghostly shorts that are truly beautiful and unnerving to read.

But he also has an ongoing series (Salmonweird) about a murder mystery in a town of ghosts.

The book cover Maryneal 1962. The protagonist is covered in blood and running towards the reader. There are cars facing the title that is displayed at a drive-in movie theater. The quote on the front says a harrowing and gorgeously rendered exploration of grief from USA Today best selling author Emily Jane.
