One main reason was that the current generation and the one before just simply didn’t want to switch, said it’d be too difficult. There was actually a lot of co-op from younger gens at the time. Rec looking into it more honestly. And ask where are those old ppl now 🙂

But before you want to toss out “well America doesn’t use the metric system” pls know that government has been try for GENERATIONS to do so actually (esp. in the 70’s-90’s) but the push back was crazy, many people didn’t want that change-
