It's been a couple of months since Tilly died, and we haven't had a single bird, or mouse in the house since. I think we know who was doing all the hunting, and that Honey is a bit crap when it comes to murdering small creatures.

After only a week of new scary catflap*, both cats that have microchips seem to have mastered it. Much to the chagrin of Flynn, who isn't chipped yet.

Adult cats 1 - 0 Kitten

*Catflap makes noise when it recognises chip and unlocks. My cats have never dealt with this before.

Cat coat genetics are really fascinating.

The really rare combination is a calico or tortie male, as this requires them to have three chromosomes instead of two, and they're nearly always sterile.

Female gingers are more common than most people think. About 1 in 5.
I learned this over on Twitter, when we discovered Flynn was female.
You'd think they were like unicorns the way some folk responded.

I mean, she's very orange. Honey and Nori don't really know what to make of her.

Two cats didn't feel like enough cat to fill the house. So I'd like to introduce our newest feline, Flynn.

I felt a great disturbance in the force, as though hundreds of village fêtes simultaneously tutted "Bloody typical, eh?"

Some heartbreaking news.
Received a phone call from a vet that no-one wants.
My beautiful, funny, silly, and feisty cat Tilly had been brought in after being attacked by a dog. Efforts to save her were unsuccessful.

It exists in the garden. Waiting for one of my bloody cats to bring back into the house...

The downside of evicting a mouse from your room, after you've shut the cat out to deal with the mouse, is that the cat then spends the next hour scouring your room for a nonexistent mouse. Don't you Tilly?

Six month vet checkup for Tilly and Honey. The verdict:
Tilly is a perfect angel.
Honey is also a very sweet cat, but is turning into a bit of a Heckin' Chonker.
