— Mentioning (threatening??) medical just gets a snicker from him. Oh. "I don't——no, Eve, I'm not having a stroke. I wouldn't mind toast, but—" a couple more or those laborious blinks. A sigh. "You are fortunate to be a paw——" stop. "...Not in management. 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 have no work ethic anymore."

"The public needs a circus, Eve. I don't exactly have the bread," he says, as though it excuses the note. "That isn't even that bad of a plan, at least it can pretend to be...actual work. Do you remember the calendars?"

Referring no doubt to the SHINRA equivalent of sexy fireman calendars.

— As he scribbles, fingers locking up repeatedly, he says, "Eve, I don't know know anything about 'aura forging' or 'aura yawning' or whatever...that new thing people call 'acting cool'. I'm just, yknow..." he gestures vaguely with the pen hand, "...it's been a day."

"SOLDIER Boulders...that's good, actually. Maybe I could..." he mumbles, forcing himself to open his eyes properly to make a scribble on a sticky note.

It's nearly illegible, but it reads: 「 puff piece w/ photoset of large chested, shirtless SOLDIER moving rocks (disaster relief? manufactured?) 」

"I have...more pressing things to be concerned about," he says, though it sounds more like an automated response than a real answer. Automated and tired. "Not as though you can do much down there unless you want HR involved."

Is that a...joke? It's hard to tell. His tone is completely flat.

「✢」STARES* it's time to put my head in the oven already

He just stares. The second-hand clicks some ten or fifteen times, and he states.

"Are you kneeling or crouching?" he asks, as though that is the most pressing issue.

A long, drawn-out sigh. Amos rubs at the corner of his eyes and blinks tightly.
