Thank you, good to know and thanks for clarifying. It's what they sent out in their email to us @mojeek.com and presumably many others.

Google Is the Only Search Engine That Works on Reddit Now Thanks to AI Deal DuckDuckGo, Bing, Mojeek, and other search engines are not returning full Reddit results any more.

What good does it do us when we respect robots.txt, publish our IPs, and do not donate to any such; nor would if we could. As for the Google-Reddit deal, I can't now say more than this: www.404media.co/google-is-th...

Letter to Peter Kyle: Keep our right not to be subjected to decisions based solely on AI Civil society organisations, trade unions, academics and campaigners have called for the government to scrap proposals to remove the right not to be subject to decisions made by automated or AI system...

Perplexity powers its β€˜answer engine’ with Azure OpenAI Service - Microsoft for Startups Blog What’s the next step in the evolution of AI chatbots? Perplexity is working on the answer, with an aim to evolve from β€œsearch engines” to β€œanswer engines.”

No source but see this. www.microsoft.com/en-us/startu...

They were definitely using outside sources and as main (can't/shouldn't say which). Note we have a search API @mojeek so i woudl know ;)

Almost certainly not. Perplexity will have switched. Bing racked up their prices and restricted usage of Bing API with LLMs in mid-2023. Brave didn't have a search API then but have now.

You might argue it's now too easy to "make something people want". For example, small biz want leads and we now have more and more lead gen pimpers; selling data that is likely to be crap and unethically collected.

Let's "make something people value"

Please don't take a view on farmers until you have read this spot on piece.

Growing up with grandparents, who like James Rebank were Cumbrian famers, I know too well how they struggled back then. And it's gotten dramatically worse.

As expected, Trump named Brendan Carr to chair the FCC. Carr is a big fan of Starlink and is vocal about the need to reform the protections that Section 230 gives big tech.

Here’s his recent thread about big tech, the β€œcensorship cartel,” and his concerns about NewsGuard and fact checkers.
