I guess we're finding out what we would have done if we were white Americans living in the Jim Crow era or when Japanese Americans were rounded up & sent to concentration camps.

I just voted against proscribing Palestine Action, a civil disobedience group, as a terrorist organisation. But I'm furious that in doing so, the government forced me and others to vote against proscribing two other clearly terrorist groups. Cynical and dangerous from govt.

The calculator revolutionised the way maths was taught. People lost the ability to do mental arithmetic. AI could very likely have a similar effect in terms of critical reasoning.

It has been fascinating to see how the different outlets have framed it and how the framing has shifted. From ‘Israel–Hamas war’ to ‘Israel–Gaza war’ to ‘War on Gaza’ (used by AJ).

The final section of this interview is so powerful. Dr Haj-Hassan refusing to let the BBC “two-side” the genocide in Gaza.

Well, it’s always a sign that the hurler of the abuse has run out of vaguely valid arguments.

I myself have had the ‘antisemite’ slur hurled at me countless times – despite the fact my mother’s a Holocaust survivor. Have even been called ‘Goy girl’! It’s obscene and has to stop.

His entire argument seems to be that there’s something inherently suspicious about focusing on Israel’s apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocides, and only an antisemite would be motivated to scrutinise Israel.

Yes, it’s totally illogical.

If someone opposed the Gaza genocide but supported atrocities in Sudan, then they could legitimately be called out for hypocrisy. But opposing one genocide doesn’t imply the person supports other genocides in other places.
