More students could learn about our Deaf Communities and our culture through my 14 lectures.

I heard in the next year the junior students will join the class in addition to the first and second year students. I cannot imagine how many students will register in the next year. It is not a class to learn Japanese Sign Language. So the mass class would be fine for me.

It means I need more time for the grading work. They wrote so well and I could give many students better than “C” and a few of them earned “successfully A+.”

Finally I finished the grading for my class of “Deaf Culture and Signed Language” at Kanagawa University. This year the freshmen and the sophomores join the class and the total number of the students is almost 100.

The examination sheet have already been ready and would be printed soon. Differently from the class in the last year, the current class has more than three times students and I will need more time to grade their answer sheets.

I will talk about the Deaf Communities and Sign Languages in East Africa for the class for tomorrow and for the class in the next week, the topics would be about Deaf Communities in U.S.A. and technology.

My class of ”Sign Language and Deaf Culture” at Kanagawa University will have two more classes and then the examination for the class would be held in the latter half of this month.

The main topics for today would be modality in JSL and JSL development as L1.

We will finish our current text book today and after the next month, we will use the next new text book which discuss linguistic tool to analyse language structure such as language tree.

Last Saturday I will host a monthly workshop of Introduction to General Linguistics for JSL signers. Every presentation and talk are only in Japanese Sign Language and written Japanese language. So far we conduct this workshop longer than for 15 years.

She will fly to the Middle East for her business very soon. Through this travel, she learned the transportation situation at the nearest international airport to her company. Anyway we feel relieved to know that she came back her home country safely at this time.

Our second girl enjoyed her weekend at Seoul, South Korea in the weekend. One of her club maytes now studied there and guided her friends and her. She enjoyed several local foods and different culture there.

These days, many rose flowers are in full bloom at my small gardens. We enjoy some of them on the dining table.

In the last weekend, I saw Dr. Brenda Nicodemus. I saw her at LI of LSA held at Univ. New Mexico in 1995 where she worked as one of ASL interpreters for the courses.

The anticancer treatments for my partner seems to work well. Today we have better result of the CT test of the affected area. I hope she could survive the hard time. Thank you, God.

Soon I will host the online Linguistics introduction workshop in Japanese Sign Language. Today our topics are onomatopeia origin theory and Sign Language variations. I look forward to enjoying the reporter's presentations.

On coming Tuesday, my first half year class of “Sign Language and Deaf Culture” will begin 2025 course, which would be the second year for this univerdity. Several JSL/ spoken language interpreter team members would work with me.

After rainy day, it is beautiful day today. I could enjoy the southern India meal set and cherry-blossoms as shown on these pictures.

March, 3rd is the doll festival in Japan, which celebrates the health and well-doing of the girls to display a set of ornamental dolls. Some families have the full set of dolls and we have this simple top two set.

Of course, this kind of book to come out would be the first in Jaoan. Thank you, God.

Our attempt to publish our new book on Sign Languages in developing countries within this year seems to be going to turn out well with a famous linguistics special publisher in Japan. It will cover China, India, East Africa, West Africa, the Philippines and Brazil.
