(The fact that I only feel comfortable sharing this opinion on bluesky also deeply bothers me. But I'll avoid this from turning into a huge rant thread.)

I hated being told that that is the "wrong side". I hated being drawn into an argument where saying "not moving your car doesn't make you a domestic terrorist" means I'm "not looking deep enough".

I'm convinced that radical apathy is becoming the way of the right and idk how to move forward.

Can we not then look at the shooting of a concerned mother and be outraged that someone who according to official sources "used his training" to end her life?

The conversation devolved into all sorts of right-wing talking points and me trying to eek out any sort of empathy. Was it not only 6 years ago that conservatives were calling for civil disobedience to mask mandates and vaccines?

I was told today that because I held what I feel is the most reasonable-ass opinion of "nobody should get shot for not moving their car & that man should be prosecuted" that I'm on the "wrong side".

Living in a very very red state I'm used to conservative opinion, and hold many myself, but I really cannot fathom why so often conservatives see an officer of any kind kill someone and scramble to find a reason why it should've happened.

I generally avoid politics, but I've been awake with my twins, thinking about getting ambushed in the car by my MiL asking me about "my thoughts" on the killing in MN.

In the Forest Secret Area in Super Mario World, there are three 1-Ups after the goal that seem impossible to collect without flying, as walking through the goal destroys them. However, there is an extremely simple trick to get them every time: simply press L before touching the goal.

I played this game with my 5 and 6 year old, and when we beat the boss we all play "keepy uppy" and try to keep the boss in the air for as long as possible.

Someone once posted that a Knives Out + Muppets crossover would be excellent, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.

If a story stops being told, is preservation meaningful? Just a thought.

I think there's two types of preservation:

1. Keeping as much of the original work as possible in the most original state.

2. Accessibility to said work to be played and enjoyed.

I view translation to be in that second camp. Japanese -> English, yes. But also any English to another as well.

My local barcade is closing and I'm seriously bummed out. I was never quite old enough to be truly an arcade kid, so those cabinets being available to play, really scratched an itch.
