ROYS will return to its traditional two day format, taking place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June at York Explore Library.

Extremely excited to share that Jo Fletcher will be giving one of the keynote talks at this year's @roysociety.bsky.social conference in Scarborough.

Jo's module on World Mummification I took 7 years ago has had a lasting impact on my career to this day, so please book when tickets are available!

We're excited to announce our second keynote this year will be Professor Joann Fletcher.

Jo is a British Egyptologist and BAFTA-winning TV personality, and has gained recognition in both the field of archaeology, and for her tv programmes.

It should be warned in uni that becoming an archaeologist would have you spoiling films for your friends. No one wants to hear about the odd choice of armours Gladiator 2 or Pedro Pascal's spatha, let alone skipping over Septimius Severus and invading Numidia 250 years after it was annexed.
