Your 'moment of doom' for Nov. 22, 2025 ~ And I am telling you.
"This translates to existential risks for billions of people. Not far in the future, but within the next few years for extreme events, and within decades for tipping points."

Your 'doom quote' for today:
"As bright, white surfaces like sea ice and snow shrink, less of the sun's energy is reflected back into space; instead it is absorbed into the climate system, which in turn melts even more ice and snow."

This year will end with about 150-160 days at or above the Paris limit of 1.50ยฐC, down from a record 271 days in 2024.
These are the days, my friend.

Your 'moment of doom' for Nov. 20, 2025 ~ Bright green truths.
"A global pandemic, competing existential crises and the sinister spread of right-wing populism have exhausted so many of us, rendering us either too shell-shocked or cynical to engag with something so painful."
The latest, from November 18, has the planet at 1.61ยฐC above pre-industrial.
Will the planet reach an anomaly of 1.80ยฐC above pre-industrial over the coming few days, as forecast? The Climate 8-ball is busy eating gobsmacking bananas.

The Earth energy imbalance (EEI) is best looked at over longer periods, as short-term impacts from ENSO, volcanoes, solar cycle, cloud cover and aerosols can create a lot of volatility.
Here is a graph showing the 36-month running average for the EEI, currently at 11.2 HpS.
This graphic shows the difference from the 1981-2010 baseline. Add about 0.60ยฐC to get the anomaly above the 1850-1900 IPCC pre-industrial baseline.
In other words, an anomaly over pre-industrial above 1.80ยฐC is likely in the next few days.

The 2-year running mean for the global surface temperature anomaly is still above 1.55ยฐC.

The more you know!
Atmospheric methane increased 7.22 ppb from July 2024 to July 2025. However, due to methane's short lifetime (about 110 months), it required over 153 ppb of new methane to cause the atmospheric level to rise by 7.22 ppb.
