πŸ˜€Two 2026 achievements made so far: 1) been comfortable coding using Stan; 2) replaced a dead battery and a cracked screen in an old iphone.

Expression of heat shock proteins and thermal sensitivity of male fertility across six Drosophila species Abstract. Understanding the mechanisms that confer resilience to thermal stress is crucial in the context of climate change. Recently there has been increa

πŸ“’Out now in @jevbio.bsky.social, we tried to work out whether heat limits of survival or fertility are reflected in heat shock protein expression across Drosophila πŸͺ° species. The answer is, well, a bit. With the wonderful @chsmithson.bsky.social @ejduncan.bsky.social doi.org/10.1093/jeb/...

My first morning WFH. Email account is locked and One-drive is unavailable. No prior reminders from uni IT services.

R did not put me down which still can download data from one-drive without entering valid credentials. Julia can't!

This my last week physically in the building and never feel been greatly valued: office pc suddenly broken down last Friday and this morning a large piece of ceilings falling off to the floor. This might be a nice way to say goodbye after staying three years together and much appreciate.

Very fortunate there's a cafe downstair the office. Even fortunate I got 'unlimited' vouchers. The barista remember my face and flavour and ultimately fortunate that one cup of coffee keeps warm and concentrated for an entire day.
