Trying to add "Z" dimension for those who can wrap their heads around a cube while playing chess with familliar rules and pieces.
I need to write an engine for cubechess.com once I finish validation and networking. This will be an adventure for sure!

23.12.2024 19:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0New blog entry about cube as a chess platform, not as a variant. www.3d-masters-cube-chess.com/blog/2224242...

17.12.2024 02:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now, Revolution is the level 3. Levels 1 and 2 don't have this "Cube castling"
16.12.2024 22:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I appreciate the first impression... and it definitely is a reaction that's I have heard before.
However, your brain is selling itself short. It is much more capable than you imagine. I am making the online versions, so that people will have a way to try it & see it's easier than it looks.
pretty soon you should be able to try it online -- I am deep in development bodytko.com/cubetest/3/ . At this point I am working on very basic stuff -- containers for pieces, turns and logging... Most likely it will be hosted on cubechess.com once done.

15.12.2024 21:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No harder than the regular chess... (surprised reaction of those who tried) -- the only difference is that you must rely more on your wits than memory
15.12.2024 21:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Playing chess is the sign of a gentleman, playing chess well is the sign of a wasted life". This delightfully ironic quote is often attributed to Paul Morphy, an American chess prodigy from New Orleans, who dominated the chess world in the 1850s. 15.12.2024 20:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Judging by your profile image you might be intrigued by the cube chess -- 3d but unlike star trek 3d multiple boards, chess is played on a single continuous board wrapped around the cube youtu.be/mMfV8f1APIk
15.12.2024 20:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Great suggestion. I followed them all.
I hope you will check the cube chess site (and the blogs). It might be a variant, but the 3 different "variant" parts are the "boards" themselves, not the chess rules or pieces.
This is not a sales pitch, our focus is playing the cube youtu.be/jo2FgbGTt_s
Here is quick video of the first new prototype of the 3-rd cube chess variant the "Revolution" -- This variant allows to switch between "Frontier" and "Crossroads" cube variant setups as part of the game.

15.12.2024 15:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0New to BlueSky. Is this platform any good? I am especially interested in reaching people interested in chess. Especially those who also have life in addition to playing chess...
