Very funny to me, also, that "The Arsenal of Freedom" is the name of an episode in Star Trek TNG where autonomous AI weapons killed an entire civilization and there's a sales hologram still on the planet trying to sell them. it was originally a commentary in the sale of F-14 Tomcats to Iran(!)

Nearly 10% of the United States' population has died since 2018 when Donald Trump started promising that he had a healthcare plan that he'd reveal in four weeks. Since that first promise, he averaged 6 similar (broken) promises per year. Yes, even over Biden's term.

Two things are simultaneously true:
1. The Iranian regime treats its people with extreme brutality and cruelty, and we should honour the citizens seeking to overthrow it.
2. A US attack on Iran would turn a crisis into a catastrophe.
Firms are gearing up for the Refund Wars now. We're likely to see billions transferred from government to corporate coffers. And good! The taxes were illegal.
But *consumers* shouldered much of the tariff burden. And won't get those refunds.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.
