It’s starting to feel like Trump will eventually cut and run, leaving all these countries with abandoned bases and an escalating regional war, which is just as fall of the Roman Empire as it gets.

This war will do nothing to help - and will very likely make things worse - when it comes to the biggest challenges we face at home.

Trump or his wealthy friends won’t pay the price. It will fall on service members and their families, on taxpayers, and on working Americans already stretched thin.
