What Does that Nature Say to You β€” From the Front Row There’s something so delicately unassuming about the films of Hong Sangsoo. Mostly improvised around loose scenarios, centered around lengthy conversations often held over meals or drinks, and shot on...

Review | WHAT DOES THAT NATURE SAY TO YOU - "In vino, veritas, as the saying goes, and in Hong’s profound, altogether lovely film, arriving at the truth is only the beginning."

Now playing from @cinemaguild.com!

Many of you have asked, and here it is! A @letterboxd.social list of the full Trans Canon, all 300 listed movies by our all-trans and non-binary panel.

I'd have loved to have you! I pushed the call for ballots for a month or so but a lot of folks still missed it. This has gotten such a good response though I'd love to do it again sometime in a year or so with a bigger, more diverse pool of folks.

I thought the same thing. But I like surprises! NASHVILLE ranking so high was another nice surprise that I wouldn't have predicted.

I did not expect two Lynches to make the top 10 but in hindsight I totally should have.

Fascinating list. I didn't participate, but there would have been some overlap in my own choices if I had. Shout out to Laura Palmer the patron saint of trans women with a film problem

Huge shout out to Mattie for putting this together. Genuinely fascinating to see what ten films ended up topping the list, but I mostly adore the sheer variety of picks in the individual lists.

SPEED RACER was 1 point away from the top 10!

I'd love to do an expanded version in the future. I had a call out for submissions for about a month or so, but now that the list is out there and has eyes on it I may be able to get a bigger sample for a future poll.

The storytelling in this season of #DragRace feels more forced than usual. It feels like production is trying to gaslight us about the quality of certain performances to justify their manipulation.

One that I'm surprised no one has mentioned is JANE EYRE, a TV movie from 1970 that Williams scored before he became a household name with JAWS, and I think it's still one of his loveliest dramatic works.

No Spielbergs might be too harsh, I considered AI (which I think is one of Williams' greatest works) and MUNICH, but I really want to know your favorite deep cuts.
