At least in my experience of explaining what esuna does and how to tell what debuff can be cleansed at what was at the time, an endgame dungeon.

Tbh the main reason, to me, was that before Endwalker, the game gave no reason to use esuna. 99% of poison or bleed debuffs do so little dot damage that it's not anything to worry about, so a lot of players never really knew what it did (save for maybe SCH because of the one job quest)

I really hate how so much of gaming "discourse" nowadays just boils down to "this game/series wasn't made specifically for me, therefore it's trash and should not be allowed to exist"

Worst run i had was 59 minutes. First boss. It was a backfill and I found out why. Max level SGE who didn't know what esuna was. Kept dying due to not cleansing necrosis. We actually timed out of the instance at the last boss.

Here's my basic beef with "a.i."
First, do no harm. We consume things all day long without knowing for sure what harm they cause people or planet, but with "a.i." WE KNOW.
1. built from theft
2. consumes water
3. pollutes
