It's just so full of pain and loneliness and Paul Thomas Anderson helps us empathise with everyone. And all the performances are incredible

Each time I watch this it impresses me even more. And kicks my ass even more.
Remarkable.
Fuck. Me.

I know all those skits by heart, it's so weird

Plenty to criticise the New Yorker for but it's a fascinating institution and this is a solid documentary. I could live without Sarah Jessica Parker or Jon Hamm telling me why they like it but there's not too much of that
There was mourning here
11.12.2025 23:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0209. A Room For Romeo Brass (torrent, 1999)
The film debut for so many of the Shane Meadows family, this is such a gorgeous little movie. Considine is twitchy genius. Meadows definitely got better at picking needle drops mind...
208. Blue Moon (Tyneside, 2025)
In which Ethan Hawke channels The Child Catcher for a tour-de-forFUCKSAKE MAKE IT STOP I'M SO FUCKING BORED.
Out of the house for the first time in a week. Making a day of it.
11.12.2025 11:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My flu-addled brain isn't up to the 'bold experimentalism' of Anna Quin's Berg right now, so I thought I'd read something easy and untaxing.
Like James frickin' Joyce.
This Is England '90
Time with these people is always well spent but the last series is lacking - plot, development. Still better than most seasons of most series, mind.
It's painful, lots of 'remember back in the day when we used to listen to The Temptations?' <cue Temptations on the soundtrack>

It was a few years later, maybe 4?

09.12.2025 22:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I did find the first season pretty compelling almost against my better judgement, ridiculous dance moves and all, but didn't manage more than one episode of season 2, which I think was a common reaction. π¬

207. Another Earth (Disney, 2011)
Saw this described as 'Melancholia for the Twilight crowd' which is harsh but has some truth. It's mumblecore almost-sci-fi about choices and destiny and such. It's not bad and is impressive considering it was made for buttons.

This Is England '86.
You remember the fights and the daftness and the parties and you forget this is one of the bleakest series...
Might watch The Road or something. You know, for the LOLs
206. This Is England (torrent, 2006)
Still brilliant. Lands harder in the current climate for sure.
Everybody wishes they'd had an older mate like Woody...
