Once again, Donald Trump is playing politics with disaster relief. We’ve already sued and won once before on this, but he’s not done. Now he’s defunding certain states and imposing arbitrary and unworkable conditions on states like Connecticut.

Connecticut just sued to stop the Trump administration from unlawfully reallocating and constraining federal homeland security funding from states based on their compliance with the administration’s political agenda.

This was about Trump trying to make it harder for us to drive down unaffordable energy costs and to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Yet another ignorant, short-sighted move by this President to enrich polluters, funnel tax breaks to billionaires, and hurt the rest of us.

A federal judge in Oregon just handed us a major victory in our lawsuit to protect federal energy funding. In a ruling from the bench, the judge found that the Trump Administration's cap on state energy program funding was illegal.
