When are we to expect newspaper front-page interview features with Dr. Beth Upton about her two-year ordeal of having her right to anonymity removed and her name dragged through the mud and being decried as a sexual predator only for a tribunal to clear her and find SHE was discriminated against?

09.12.2025 15:53 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's got nothing to do with capitalism. The railway is funded from two sources: the taxpayer and the fare payer. Govt decides what the ratio is. Since 1996 every govt has shifted the burden from taxpayer to fare payer. Other countries eg Ireland swing the other way.
It's a political choice
A new record - on 5 December wind power produced enough electricity for 3/4 of UK homes
At 23.8GW it meant that even during winter peak demand, it was still providing nearly half the country's power needs
Still a way to go though....

Offshore wind has been making waves in the British power system for 25 years, growing to become 🇬🇧’s SECOND largest source of power
Starting with two small turbines in 2000, offshore wind has grown to generate nearly a fifth of British electricity.
